Frances Mae Wilfong

Frances Mae Wilfong, age 88 of Hartstown, PA passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born June 28, 1926 in Jewels Ridge Bristol, Virginia, the daughter of the late Paul Yeager Pyles and Beulah Mae Mullins Pyles. She married John E. Wilfong Jr. on August 15, 1942. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1994. Frances graduated from Green Bank High School in Green Bank, West Virginia. In early years Frances had worked at the former Viscose Corporation in Meadville, PA, and for many years as a stay at home house wife. She had also worked as a Nurse's Aide at St Paul's Home for 15 years and was active with the voting held at West Fallowfield Township. Frances was a member of the Hartstown Presbyterian Church in Hartstown. She was the Grand Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Century 100, Jamestown, PA. Frances is survived by a son; John Y. Wilfong Sr. and his wife, Theresa of Hartstown, PA, a grandson; John Y. Wilfong Jr. and a granddaughter; Samantha Lynn Wilfong, a brother; Herman James Pyles of Martinsburg, Virginia, and nephews and nieces; Harvey, Karen, Jo Debra, Ernie, Cheryl and Sandy "Kay" and her special friend, Vivian Bauer. In addition to her parents and her husband, Frances was preceded in death by two sisters; Pauline Pyles Galford and Geraldine Pyles, and a brother Bernard Eugene Pyles, and a nephew Ralph Shifflet Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday at the Hartstown Presbyterian Church.
