Francis Smith

Francis “Dick” Smith, age 71, of Girard, PA passed away on June 26, 2021 in Meadville, PA at his niece’s home.  He was born on October 6, 1949 in St. Marys, West Virginia to the late Richard Smith and Ruth Bush.

Dick enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and scrapping.  He loved the Cleveland Browns and he really enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Joe Smith and his wife, Michelle Moore of Erie, PA and his son, Richard T. Smith and his wife, Kira of Girard, PA; his grandson, Christopher Elder of KY and many more grandchildren; his niece, Stephanie Huffman of Meadville, PA and his daughters, Melanie Strange and her significant other, John Elder of Erie, PA and Tina Dore and her significant other, Gretchen Sargent of Girard, PA.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Veronica Smith; his son, Richard B. Smith; an infant son, Roy Smith; his sister, Ruth “Sissy” Smith; his brothers, Charles Cross, Miles Cross, Robert Smith, Roger Smith, Bruce Smith, Frank Smith, Gordon Smith, Jerry Smith and John Smith; his nephew, Bruce Smith, Jr.; his former spouse, Michelle “Mickey” Smith and his girlfriend, Judy Gariepy.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
