Frank Monico Jr.

Frank Monico Jr., age 90, of Meadville, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Meadville Medical Center.             He was born July 12, 1926 in Meadville, PA the son of the late Frank Monico Sr. and Jeannette Musica Monico.  He married Angelina M. Mastroianni on June 6, 1953.  She preceded him in death on March 23, 2013.             He had attended Meadville Schools.  Frank retired from Avtex Fibers.  He was a World War II Veteran having served with the Marines.             Frank was a member of St. Mary of Grace Church in Meadville, where he served 50 years as an usher.  He was a member of the Holy Name Society at the church. He and his wife, Angelina were very active supporting the functions of the church.  He was a long time member of the Meadville Italian Civic Club and was known for his sharp sense of humor.             Frank is survived by a son: Dr. David F. Monico, DC of Meadville, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.             In addition to his parents and his wife, Frank was preceded in death by a sister: Adeline, and by three brothers: Alexander Monico, John Monico and Anthony Monico, and his daughter: Mary Jeanne Stone.             Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday from 2 until 4 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA.             Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm on Friday at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville, with Father Thomas Trocchio, as Celebrant. He will be entombed, with his wife, in St. Brigid Mausoleum.
