Frank C. Rogers Sr.

Frank C. Rogers, Sr. 82 of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Park Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born on July 29, 1931, in Meadville, a son of the late George and Phoebe Brink Rogers. He married Betty Jane McCully on December 27, 1953. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2014. He worked in the construction field with Union Local 964 out of New Castle. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, training troops in Germany. Frank was of the Methodist Faith. He was a member of the Meadville Club, the V FW Post #2006, the BPOE #219, Eagles Aerie #429, and West Mead #2. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. Frank was a family man, dedicated to his late wife, Betty Jane, and to his children and grandchildren. He was very interactive with his children and grandchildren, and loved them dearly. Frank is survived by a daughter, Edwina S. Jones and her husband Philip Jones of Meadville, PA; two sons, Frank C. Rogers Jr. and his wife, Tina Leffingwell Rogers of Meadville, PA and Richard Rogers and his companion, Angie of Cambridge Springs, PA; four grandchildren, Valerie Jones, Philip Jones Jr., Frank Rogers III, and Alexis Jane Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Jared Jones and Bricen Jones; two sisters, Della Beish of Meadville, PA and Monie of Ohio; two brothers, George "Bus" Rogers of Huntingdon, PA and James "Jim" Rogers and his wife, Dorothy of Meadville, PA. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Frank was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Ginny Rogers, and a brother-in-law, Wayne Beish. Family and friend are welcome to call on Monday, from 2 to 4PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow on Monday at 4 PM at the funeral home with Deacon Harvey McQueen, of St. Agatha Church, officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 2006, at 4PM on Monday at the funeral home.
