Frank H Whitmore

Frank (Bud) H. Whitmore, 82 of Harmonsburg Road, Meadville, passed away on Monday January 14, 2013, at his residence. He was born on July 31, 1930, in Sharon, a son of the late Frank Whitmore and Ethel Mae Pfouts Whitmore. He married Nancy Carol Kear on January 13, 1951; she survives. Frank was a 1948 graduate of Hartford High School. He had worked for Blaney Lumber Company of Hartford, Ohio. Then he went to work for his cousin Ernie Whitmore in Indiana building houses. He then moved to Meadville and worked for SanRay Corporation for many years. He was a Corporal in the US Army. Bud was very active in the Watson Run Presbyterian Church. When something needed done, Bud helped. He was a member of the VFW, Past Commodore of the Northshore Boat Club in Linesville, he bowled for years at the Plaza and at the Lake; he was in several golf leagues at the Park Golf Course. Surviving in addition to his wife, Nancy Carol Whitmore of Meadville, is a son, Jerry Whitmore; a daughter Janet Petts and her husband, Louis; a sister, Ethelmae Anthony and her husband Bruce; a granddaughter, Sadie; a grandson, Eli; several great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ila Whitmore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Garfield William. A memorial service will be held at the Watson Run Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with a dinner to follow, officiated by Rev. Frank Duncan.
