Fred Ream, age 87, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday April 3, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1934 in Somerset, PA to the late George and Bertha (Miller) Ream. He married Mary Lou Walter on June 17, 1960. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1984.
Fred attended Conneaut Lake High School. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. In his younger years he worked at Conneaut Lake Park. He also worked for Goodae Construction and Associated Contractors, Inc.
Fred served as the Fire Chief at Conneaut Lake Park for 6 years. He raised many chickens and sold eggs for years. He was a skilled woodworker and loved to mow on his John Deere Tractor. He was a member of Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall, Conneaut Lake Volunteer Station 3 and the Carpenter’s Union 556. He loved watching his grandchildren at their sporting events and was also a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.
He is survived by two daughters, Meg Daniels and her husband, Shawn of Edinboro, PA and Michelle Hill and her husband, John of Jamestown, PA and two sons, Gregory Ream and his wife, Terri of Conneaut Lake, PA and Glenn Ream and his wife, Kathy of Clarington, PA; five grandchildren, Corey Ream and his wife, Kelsie, Kaitlin Ream, Hunter Daniels and his significant other, Katie, Tanner Daniels and Joshua Hill; three great grandchildren, Brodeigh, Kolter and Marlee; two sisters, Lillian Mott and her husband, Harold of New Castle, PA and Keturah Roberts and her husband, Donovan of Conneaut Lake, PA ; two sisters-in-law, Doris Ream and Janet Ream both of Conneaut Lake, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; both of his brothers, Jack and Jay Ream; a nephew, Jeffrey Mott and a niece, Tracy Ingraham.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
