Frederick Roberts

Frederick D. Roberts, age 83 of Guys Mills, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Crawford County Care Center.  He was born on October 12, 1936 in Meadville to the late Clifton Roberts and Minnie Simmons.

Fred was married to the late Johanna Hirschvogel Roberts and the late Edith Bailey Roberts.  He served in the Army during the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith.

He was the owner/operator of Roberts Hay Hauling in the 1970’s then went to work for the recycling company in Meadville that is currently Lincoln Recycling.  He was a member of the VFW Post #2006, The Italian Civic Club and the Eagles.  He enjoyed socializing with his club friends and having coffee at McDonalds with his buddies.  In Fred’s free time he liked to scrap.  Even though he was retired, he continued to work at Lincoln Recycling as a laborer.

Fred is survived by 3 Children, Larry Roberts and his wife Margo of Meadville,  Gary Roberts and his wife Patty of Cochranton and Christine Shellenberger and her husband Joseph of Semmes, AL.  Additionally he is survived by several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Step-Children and Nieces and Nephews.   Preceding Fred in death are his parents, spouses and 8 Siblings; James, Sherman, Bill, John, Paul, Chuck, Idabelle and Iva.
