Garnet R. Crawford

Garnet Romaine Crawford age 89 of Meadville, passed away on July 6, 2018 at the Grove Street facility of the Meadville Medical Center. Garnet was born on February 15, 1929 in Clarion County, PA; the daughter of Ross Barnhart and Mae Sayers (Barnhart). She and Barnett H. Crawford were married on June 12, 1947; he survives. She was a graduate of the New Bethlehem High School, Clarion County. Garnet worked at McCrosky Tool Company and Montgomery Ward Co. , both in Meadville.   She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Meadville; the Titusville Womens Club, the Marine Corps Auxiliary of Titusville. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, and spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren. Surviving Garnet are her husband of  71 years, Barney; a daughter Janice Elaine Powell (and her husband Richard) of Denton, Texas;  eight grandchildren: Heather Eakin, Marlo Schlecker, Scott Crawford, Kurt Crawford, Bryon Jacob, Jennifer Sherman, Jennifer Calvert, Kimberly Pendleton; also 17 Great Grandchildren.   She is also survived by 7 nieces and 2 nephews.           Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was a son Randall Crawford; 2 sisters and 1 brother.           A memorial Service will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church North Street, Meadville, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11 AM; with the Rev Rebecca W. Patterson, Pastor of the Church, Officiating.           Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery, Frogtown, PA. Memorials may be nade to the American Cancer Society or the Heart Association.           Arrangements for Garnet R.
