George W. Brown, age 87, who farmed his entire life on Brown Hill, Cambridge Springs, went to be with his Lord, on April 26, 2015. He had been a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown. He was born in Erie County, on June 20, 1927, a son of Kenneth G. Brown and Marie Sutter Brown. George graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1945. In addition to owning and working the Brown Hill Farm, he and Ralph Smith partnered in the Brown and Smith Bus Lines. George also owned the George Brown Bus Lines, which contracted with the PennCrest School District for 51 years. He was a very active member of the Brown Hill United Methodist Church, and had served in many offices and was a leader of the church over the years. George was also a member of: the Waterford Retreads Motorcycle Club; the Pioneer Gas and Steam Engine Society; and was a Rockdale Township Supervisor for 12 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiling with family and friends. He also enjoyed collecting antique John Deere Tractors and participating in antique tractor shows and tractor pulls. George dearly loved his family. George is survived by: his wife, of 27 years Anita Morris Brown; his loving granddaughter Kylie May Boylan; 2 grandsons Joey and Stephen Boylan of Meadville, PA; two step-daughters;Tiffany Brown of Waterford, Carrie Brown of Erie; 3 daughters: Diana Shade (Rexford) of Cambridge Springs; Loretta Johnson (Roger) of Hollidaysburg, PA, Kenyann Stanford (Richard) of Raleigh, N.C.; ten grandchildren: Amanda (Matthew) Buris, Angela (Jerrod) Holden, Matthew (Beth) Johnson, Micah (Alexandra) Johnson, Kaitlin, Kaleb, Jordan, Jonah, Jacob, and John Stanford. Also surviving are 3 sisters: Ruth Trojak of Union City, Ethel McGinnett (Clyde) of Mill Village. Mary Lou Lipinski (Jack) of Erie; and 1 brother Glenn Brown of Lincolnville, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Lou Hammond Brown in 1982, and his sister Irene Anderson. Mr. Brown's interment, at Loomis Cemetery will be private. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 1 PM, at the Brown Hill United Methodist Church, 22742 Wilkie Road, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.
