George Rogers

George E. Rogers, age 92, formerly of Meadville, passed away on June 16, 2020. He was born in Meadville, PA on February 11, 1928 to the late George C. Rogers and Pheobe Brink DeMason.   He married Virginia Mae Brawley on November 11, 1950.  She preceded him in death in 1979.

George proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1946-1949 as a MAAMA S/SGT.  He was employed as a certified welder and fabricator for GATX American Transportation.

He retired after 41 years of service.  He loved fishing and hunting and he enjoyed all of his family members.

George is survived by his daughter, Laurel Virginia Rogers Buzbee and her husband, Michael of Cove, AR and his son, Timothy George Rogers and his wife, Mary of Cambridge Springs, PA; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren;  and two sisters, Della Beish of Meadville, PA and Monni of New Castle, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Mae Brawley Rogers; his son, Blair Edward Rogers; his sister, Shirley Caraway and his brothers, Frank and Jim Rogers.

Family and friends are invited to call Friday, June 19, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335. There will be no service following calling hours.   Burial will be private at Roselawn Memorial Gardrens.
