George Temple Sr.

George Edward Temple, age 77, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday December 29, 2024. He was born on September 17, 1947 in Meadville, PA to the late Nathan and Dora Ann (Gigone) Temple. He grew up with five brothers and two sisters.  He met his longtime wife, Bonnie Deeter in 1975. They were married in 1983 and enjoyed a loving life together of nearly 49 years until his passing.

As a young adult, George worked many jobs including working for Ardvarks Sanitation for over 30 years. He also worked for Meadville Metal for 8 years.

In addition to his loving wife, Bonnie, George is survived by his six children, Lisa Foust and her husband Charlie, George Temple Jr. and his wife, Marcie, Nathan Temple, Arnold Temple, Terry Duck and Mike States; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as his beloved dog, Damien; his brothers, Robert Temple, Kenneth “Doc” Temple, James “Jim” Temple and William “Bill” Temple and his sisters, Clara Temple and Cindy Temple.   He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, husband and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded to death by his brother, Charles (Barbara) Temple.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday January 2, 2025 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Manning officiating.  All are welcome to a luncheon following services at 3 pm at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main St., Meadville, PA.
