Gerald "Jerry" Martin Peters, 81, of Cambridge Springs, PA., died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born in Philipsburg, PA on January 31, 1932, the son of the late Harry and Josephine Wascicki Peters. He married Maureen McCarthy on October 16, 1954. She survives. He retired from Northwest Rural Electric. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cambridge Springs American Legion Post. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cambridge Springs. He was an avid New York Giants fan. He is survived by his wife, Maureen Peters, a daughter, Bonita Ghiloni and her husband, Stephen of St. Louisville, Ohio, two sons, Michael Peters and his companion, Janice Kasbee of Carlton, PA., and Matthew Peters and his companion, Virginia Bruce of Cambridge Springs, PA; six grandchildren Joseph Peters, Michelle Peters, Branden Peters, Nicholas Peters, Christina Capogreco, and Philip Capogreco, two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Kailin; a sister, Constance Simler of Belleview, Florida, and a brother, Donald Peters and his wife, Jeannie of Lindenhurst, Long Island New York. There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, February 18, 2013, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 165 Beach Avenue, Cambridge Springs, PA, with Father David Poulson, as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Venango Cemetery, Venango, PA, with Full Military Honors conducted by VFW Post 2006. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Venango Avenue, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.
