Gerome Conrad

Gerome “Jerry” Conrad, age 80 of Meadville, PA passed away on Saturday, June 17,2017 at Meadville Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born January 28, 1937 in Bradford, PA the son of the late Frank Conrad and Parma C. Kunselman Conrad.  He married Carla Bier on November 23, 1961.  She survives. He was l954 graduate of Meadville Senior High School and had studied at the Meadville Vocational School for electrical.  His career included working in fabrication shops and engineering departments ending as a plant manager in Bensalem, PA He was a great boss and a great welder.  He served as a staff sergeant in the United States National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion in Saegertown.  He collected and researched everything,  enjoyed hunting and telling stories and was very inventive. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carla Conrad of Meadville, three sons: Frank W. Conrad and his wife Linda of Milford, MI, John Conrad and his wife Tara of Langhorne, PA and Thomas Conrad of Meadville, five grandchildren: Josh, Kristen, Brett, Madisyn and Shawn, two nieces: Gwen Smith, of Guys Mills, PA and Katherine Jordan of Saegertown, PA.  In addition to his parents, Gerome was preceded in death by a brother: Thomas Conrad. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Inurnment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
