Gladness Oletha Waid Williams, 81, of Conneautville, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at UPMC Hamot in Erie. She was born on September 21, 1937, in Meadville, the daughter of the late Ward and Vera Waid. She married Paul Williams on March 11, 1954, he preceded her in death. Gladness attended the Trinity United Methodist Church of Conneaut Lake. She was a housewife who enjoyed raising her three sons. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, bird watching, beadwork, puzzles and crocheting dolls and afghans. She is survived by two sons; Albert Williams and his wife, Missy, of Meadville; Roy Williams, of Olean, New York; three grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole, and Paul Williams; four great grandchilren; a brother, Ward Waid of Churchville, NY; many nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Mabel. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Daryl Williams; a granddaughter, Melissa Williams; five sisters, May Mattocks, Ruth Haines, Helen Betts, Jane Emmory, Thelma Ward; and one brother Fay Waid. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Dickson Funeral Home, 130 N. 2nd Street, Conneaut Lake. Interment will take place at Geneva Memorial Cemetery.
