Gladys Ada Grams, age 98, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully at Meadville Medical Center on Sunday July 2, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born on November 2, 1924 in Townville, PA to the late Frank and Hattie Emma Jane (Smith) Morehead. She married Norman Grams on November 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1987.
Gladys graduated from Steuben-Townville High School in 1942. She worked at Shoeco Shoe Company, Talon and Woolworth’s before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was of the Christian faith.
She loved to volunteer. She volunteered at Active Aging, was a member of local firehalls and the Eagles Auxiliary. She also enjoyed bowling and pinochle.
Gladys is survived by her children, David Grams and his wife, Larriette of Oil City, PA, Shirley Clark of Meadville, PA, Clara Sliker and her husband, Joseph of Meadville, PA, Nancy McKinney and her husband, Walter of Saegertown, PA and Roxanne Claypool and her husband, Samuel of Meadville, PA and over 30 grandchildren with great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Nelson Grams, Norman Albert Grams and Martin Grams; her brother, Earl Huckleberry and a young sister.
As per her wishes, there will be no services.
