Glen Blake

Glen “Buzz” F. Blake, age 74, of Meadville, PA passed away at his home on October 15, 2023.  He was born on August 13, 1949 in Hornell, NY to the late Glen E. and Grace (Rechichi) Blake.

Buzz was a 1968 graduate of Meadville High School.   He delivered newspaper while in school. He then worked at Super Duper and was eventually promoted to produce manager.  He was drafted to the US Army  from 1969-1971.  He returned to work at Super Duper after which he became a journeyman toolmaker and was then employed at PA Tool and Gage until his retirement.    He was a hard worker and took pride in his work ethic.

Buzz was of the Catholic faith.  He was a social member of Vernon Central.  He was on the Oakland Beach and Whispering Pines golf leagues and he was very active with the Crawford County Golf Association.  He excelled in athletics when he was young.  He was an avid bowler and he loved watching sports.  He was a huge New York Yankees fan.  He was incredibly supportive and generous to his family, friends and co-workers.  He enjoyed reading the Meadville Tribune every day.

He is survived by his sisters, Rose Koivisto and her husband, Rod of Linesville, PA and Mary Cleys of Linesville, PA and a brother, Fran Blake of Williamsburg, VA; several nephews and one niece and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Blake; brother-in-law, Larry Cleys; his nephew, Robert Blake, Jr.; three infant nephews and his golfing buddies, Stan and Terry.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Glen will be laid to rest at Roselawn with his parents.
