Goldye Leann Getschman

Goldye LeAnn Getschman, age 88, of Meadville passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 22, 1929 in Bellaire, OH. The daughter of the late Kenneth Timberlake and Josephine Workman Timberlake. She married Robert Getschman on September 13, 1962. He survives. Goldye graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education. She was a member of Zeta Tau Kappa while attending college. Goldye was an active volunteer in the beginnings of the Special Olympics.  She enjoyed crafts and crossword puzzles. Goldye was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Meadville. In addition to her husband, Goldye is survived by three daughters: Chelsea Hansen of Colorado, Betsy Sumerfield and her husband Jim of Meadville, Brandy LeAnn Samuels and her husband Pete of Carlisle, PA, two grand children: Erin Kylia Sumerfield of Pittsburgh, and James Sumerfield, Jr. of Meadville. Goldye was preceded in death by a sister: Kendra Keller, and a brother: Chatt Timberlake. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
