Gordon W. “Bink” Emig, age 77, of Cochranton, PA passed away Wednesday October 13, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was born on November 16, 1943 in Meadville, PA to the late Walter R. and Dorothy M. (Phelps) Emig. He married Judith Mitchell. She survives.
Gordon was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed numerous jobs over the years including working for West Mead Township with his grandfather, who was the township supervisor at the time, logging trees and owning his own saw mill, operating his own farm and doing mechanic work. He built 5 homes from start to finish that he lived in over the years. He enjoyed cars and riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and horses. He also enjoyed learning about his heritage.
In addition to his wife of over 40 years, Judith, he is survived by five children, James Emig, Nancy Ferringer, Wayne Schulz, Dorine Wagner and Judi Hall; 14 grandchildren, Jason, Brittany, Justin, Brooke, Cammille, Candace, Hunter, Alex, Mitzi, Nolan, Lydia, Rachel, Ben, Isaac and 5 great grandchildren, Dylan, Stormy, Malakye, Deegan, Justin; siblings, Suzanne Sherrod, Carol Easton, Jack Emig, Bonnie Laurie, Sally Emig and Mary Duignan and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday October 18, 2021 from 12-2 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335. Service will take place at 2 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Walton officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Kiser Hill Cemetery.
