Grace Ott

Grace Ott, of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. She was born in 1922 to George and Iva Peterman in French Creek Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.

She graduated from Cochranton High School in 1940 and the former Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 and also attended Miami and Pittsburgh Universities post graduate nursing.

As a Nurse she was employed at the Meadville City Hospital, the Buffalo General and Roswell Park Memorial Hospitals, both of Buffalo, the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, the Ear and Eye Hospital in Pittsburgh, and the Allegheny College Health Center in Meadville.

She married George Ott in 1962 who passed away 1975.  She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Vernon Central Hose Company Auxiliary and was a member of the Meadville Public Library Board of Directors.

For over 20 year she volunteered at the Thurston Classic Hot Air Balloon Event and the Fairview/ Fairmont after School Tutoring Program.  During her life, Grace donated over 14 gallons of blood to help those in need.

She is survived by her son, Ben and her twin sister, Phyllis Mumford.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11AM, at the First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St. Meadville, PA.
