Harold Shorts

Harold C. Shorts, age 80, of Townville, PA passed away at home on Tuesday October 1, 2024. He was born on June 25, 1944 in Meadville, PA to the late Harold F. and Janet (Meracle) Shorts. He married Nancy Mundkowsky on March 21, 1970. She survives.

Harold served in the US Navy. He then earned his Master’s degree in education from Edinboro University. He was an elementary teacher for over 30 years at Maplewood Elementary School and Penncrest School District. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed golfing, especially at Green Acres Golf Course in Hydetown, PA, hunting and fishing. He was a member of PSEA/NEA and he was a National Ski Patrol Director at Mt. Pleasant in Edinboro, PA.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Nancy, he is survived by his daughter, Lynne Benjamin of Townville, PA and his sons, Tracy Singletary and his significant other, Rhonda Lambing of Conneaut Lake, PA and Walter Shorts and his wife, BillieJo Morelli of Drumore, PA; his grandchildren, Sonia Shields, Frank Shields, Corey Shields, Joseph Shields, Aaron Benjamin, Meagan Dalton, Dakota Singletary, Jessica Shorts and Caleb Shorts; his sister, Betty Santanello of Greer, SC and his brother, Grant Shorts of Meadville, PA and his great grandchildren, Mallory, Makenna, Delilah, Christian, Jackson, Madyson and Reese.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Randy Shorts; his granddaughters, Jane and Ivah Benjamin and his great granddaughter, Gabriella Shields.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday October 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church, 828 N. Main St., Meadville, PA.
