Harold State

Harold married Margaret McNally on June 12, 1939, she preceded him in death on November 2, 1978. He graduated from Central Methodist College and received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Princeton in 1936. He taught one year at Culver Stockton before coming to Allegheny in 1937. He did a year sabbatical at the University of Illinois Urbana then returning to finish his teaching career at Allegheny in 1975. He was active in Boy Scouts, Kwanis and Litery Union. He served many years on the Saegertown School Board, Saegertown Sewer Authority and the Saegertown Library.
