Harry Onspaugh, 93, of Meadville, PA. passed away Saturday November 14, 2020 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community from Covid-19.
Harry was born in Meadville, PA on April 9, 1927, the son of the late Howard and Sadie (Leighty) Onspaugh. He married Audrey Veith on May 19, 1951 for a great marriage of 69 years. She survives.
He graduated from Meadville High School in 1945 and attended Kent State University. He was drafted in 1955 to 1957 and served as an X-ray technician with the Army Medical Corp in occupied Korea.
Harry was employed by Talon for 40 years mainly in engineering and technical sales. The tech sales job took him many places- all of the USA, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, England, Europe and Hong Kong. After leaving Talon, he was vice president of sales for Syst-A-Matic Tool and Design. For nearly 20 years, the Talon men met at the Elks club every Friday for a Romeo lunch.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and a life member of the Black Ash Sportsman’s Club, and a life member of Meadville Sportsman’s Club where he taught Hunter-Trapper education. In 2004, he was honored in Harrisburg for teaching hunter education for over 50 years.
Harry is survived by his wife Audrey, his son Eric (Robyn) of New Port Richey, FL. , a granddaughter Keely, a grandson Teagan and a step grandson Austyn Aloisio, a nephew Larry McNulty and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Onspaugh Barickman.
All services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Harry will be laid to rest in the family plot at Greendale Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
