Heidemarie Morton

April 23, 1947 — August 12, 2021

Heidemarie Morton of Guys Mills, PA passed away on August 12, 2021 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. She was born in Germany on April 23, 1947. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Clarence J. Morton of Guys Mills, PA and her children, Corinna Morton-Moore (Michael) of Meadville, PA,  Angela Morton of Meadville, PA and Bryan Morton (Laura Berarducci) of Guys Mills, PA. Her greatest joy was being a Nana to her grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Bradley Raun, Kayla Morton, Morgan Berarducci, Brandon Morton, Kylie Moore, and Isaac Morton Beres. She was proud to be a great-grandmother to her 3 beautiful great-granddaughters, Arianna, Mia and Mya.  She is also survived by her brothers, Heinz, Peter, and Harry Lehmann all of Germany and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and was an amazing presence in the lives of those who were blessed to have her as a friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frieda and Horst Lehmann; her sister, Lily Geisselmeyer and her brother, Wolfgang Lehmann all of Germany.

Many people remember Heidemarie (“Heidi”) from her 30 years as a waitress and hostess at the historic Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs. Her bright smile, big hugs, and vibrant personality will be remembered by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Drakes Mills, where she was part of the women’s Ruth Circle and Martha Circle groups for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed being part of the Community Theater and the women’s Bowling League in Cambridge Springs. While her children were in school, she sold Avon, and met many people who remained friends throughout her life. She is fondly remembered by many students from Cambridge Springs Elementary School, where she served as a Title 1 Reading Aide for first grade. Many of her students kept in touch with her throughout her life.

She loved road trips with friends, playing Bingo, going to the casino, and any opportunity to be a social butterfly. People close to her described her as someone who filled a room with her bubbly energy, and beautiful laugh. She will be missed immeasurably by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
