Helen J. (Porter) Andrews, age 87 of Meadville, PA and formerly of Cambridge Springs, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Park Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Meadville, PA Helen was born April 25, 1928 in Cambridge Township the daughter of the late Merle A. and Marjorie E. (Orr) Porter. She married Francis (Frank) Andrews on February 14, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1990. Helen graduated from high school having completed her education in 11 years. Helen was the librarian at the Cambridge Springs Public Library for many years having started in the mid 1960's and retired in April 1990. She had also worked at the local grocery store for many years. In the fall of 1990, she went back to work at the library having worked there until the age of 82. She was an avid walker and she could be seen all over town on any given day. She loved her family above all else. Helen is survived by her five children, Linda Andrews of West Virginia, Frankie Racop and her husband Jerry of Cambridge Springs, Donald Andrews and his wife Colleen of Ohio, Norman Andrews of Virginia, Larry Andrews and his wife Traci of Cambridge Springs, three grandchildren: Tracie Duffy, Tim Racop and his wife Marsha and Ahmaya Andrews all of Cambridge Springs, two step-grandchildren: Paul Paytas of Pittsburgh, and Noah Paytas of Ohio, three great-grandchildren: Nathan Duffy, Madie Duffy and Henry Racop, a sister: Lois (Porter) Mott and her husband Chester, a brother John Porter and his wife Gigi, two step-great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Porter and a step-grandson, Ben Paytas. The family would like to thank the care givers from Cambridge Springs and Park Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing for the loving care she was given the last 3 ½ years. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 5 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Cambridge Springs Public Library, 158 McClelland Street, Cambridge Springs. All are welcome to attend the memorial service, casual dress, at 5 PM on Saturday, May 23 with her son, Andy Andrews, officiating.
