Herman Joseph Beiter Jr.

December 3, 1946 — November 7, 2013

Herman Joseph Beiter Jr., age 66, of Guys Mills, unexpectedly, on November 7, 2013, left this earth to be with the Lord and loved ones in heaven. He was born December 3, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late Herman Joseph Beiter Sr. and Dolores Marie (Fischer) Beiter. He married Donna Marie Mathews on April 18, 1969. She survives. He was a South High Graduate, and was the first certified Auto bodyman in PA via night classes. He was an accomplished auto body repairman who worked at several shops in the Pittsburgh area before opening his own place, Herm's Auto Service. Upon relocation to Guys Mills in l995 he took an early retirement to enjoy the relaxing country life. He was a former member of St. Hippolyte's Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, and gardening. He was a member of the YMCA. His love in life was his devotion to his wife, daughter and being "Pappy" to his three grandsons. He will be with them all everyday in heart and spirit. Herm was an avid steelhead fisherman whose idea of heaven on earth was fishing in the cathedral of the gorges along Erie creeks. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna Marie Mathews Beiter, of Guys Mills; a daughter, Jennifer Mara Beiter Bosley of Overland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren, Thomas Beiter Bosley, Jackson Charles Bosley and Daniel Quinn Bosley; a sister, Dolores Ann Beiter Sippos and her husband, Richard of Pittsburgh, PA; sister -in-law Karen Ann Proch and the late Thomas V. Proch; nieces and nephews, Gary John Proch and Brian Geoffrey Proch, Beth Ann (Michael) Lopato, Jacqueline (Robert) D'Amico, Caroyln (John) Eisenbarth, Laura Lutton and Richard (Jill) Sippos, and eleven great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cousins. There will be no services or funeral at this time. Cremation will be followed by a memorial service at a later date.
