Jacquelyn “Jackie” Johnson, age 86, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Marquette Hospice House. She was born on August 8, 1936 in Jamestown, NY to the late Edward J. and Genevieve (Durlin) Anderson. She married Raymond H. Johnson on November 21, 1962. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1983.
Jackie earned an A.A.S at Jamestown Community College and then went on to earn her BS at Harpur College (now part of Binghamton University) and then earned her Master of Sanitary Science and Public Health at the University of Oklahoma. She was employed as an adjunct Professor of Life Sciences at Jamestown Community College for approximately 20 years. She was the Office Manager at the Meadville Area Free Clinic from 1999-2007.
Jackie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a voracious reader and also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and other handwork. She visited all 50 States and made homes in 8 of them. Previously, she was active in committees of Presbytery of Western New York and Presbytery of Lake Erie with a special interest in mission work. She went with the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance for Hurricane Katrina Relief. She was active with Samaritans of Conneaut Lake Area and committees at Trinity UM Church.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Rev. Grace Elisabeth Warren and her husband, Ernest L. and her son, Larry Johnson and his wife, Kathy; nieces: Brenda Wynkoop, Karen Kauppi, Kathryn Gibeault and Elizabeth Bradshaw and nephew Alex Nielsen.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by three sisters, G. Audrey Wilson, Carolyn Dilley, Virginia Nielsen, and her infant brother, Jimmy Anderson.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
