LINESVILLE — James Richard Anderton, 57, of Linesville, passed away at home after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. He was born Feb. 10, 1959, in Oil City, the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Anderton of Linesville. He graduated from Linesville High School, served in the U.S. Navy, and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed as an engineer for several local companies, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing on Pymatuning Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cindy Anderton. He is survived by a brother, Tom Anderton and his wife, Janice, of Meadville; a sister, Viola Piatek and her husband, Scott, of Hutto, Texas; two children, Savannah Anderton, a student at Edinboro University, and Thomas Elijah Anderton, who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Goose Creek, S.C.; and several nieces. Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
