James E. Heffern

           James W. Heffern age 75, of Conneaut Lake passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his residence.             He was born on September 19, 1941 in Meadville, PA, the son of Dorothy Arlene Andrews Heffern, and the late Walter Leroy Heffern.             James was a graduate of Conneaut Lake High School. Following high school James served in the United States Army. He then worked for the Conrail Railroad in Buffalo, NY.  James was of the Protestant faith. He was a 50 year member of Lodge 408, Free and Accepted Masons and a member of the Shriner’s. He was a member of the Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 club and belonged to the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and day trading on the computer.             James is survived by his mother Dorothy Arlene Heffern, a nephew: Vance Heffern and his wife Rose of Canton, GA,  a niece: Valerie Scarpino and her husband Dr. James Scarpino of Jamestown, NY, a nephew: Troy Heffern of Tampa, FL, a niece: Tamara Soules of St. Petersburg, FL,  seven great nieces and nephews: Lisa Scarpino, Dr. Julie Scarpino, Laurie Scarpino, Jadyn Heffern, Gretchen Soules, Emma Soules, and Hunter Soules, first cousins: Charles Davis and his wife Joyce of Meadville, Gary Davis and his wife Sue of Altoona, PA, Michael Andrews and William Andrews.             In addition to his father James was preceded in death by a two brothers; Robert Heffern in 1987, and William “Billy” Heffern, Robert’s twin, who passed away as a newborn.             Family and friends are welcome to call on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11 AM until 1 PM, at the Dickson Funeral Home, 130 North Second Street, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316. A Masonic Service will take place at 1 PM at the funeral home, followed by the funeral service with Pastor Dave Brumagin, officiating.
