James Robert Hood

James "Jim" Robert Hood of Conneaut Lake passed away March 22, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. James was born September 30, 1936 in Meadville, PA to Victor and Clara Linz Hood. He married Donna Artman September 9, 1954. She survives. He was a life-long dairy farmer and worked as a technician for Curtis Breeding & Landmark Genetics Company, and had worked for Asplundh Tree Service, and for PennDot. He was a member of the White Oak Shooting Club, liked trap shooting, hunting, painting, & NASCAR. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna Hood of Conneaut Lake, PA., two daughters Brenda Ridgeway and her husband Mark of Conneaut Lake; and Terri McCloskey of Greenville, PA: also five grandsons Jesse Zirkle and his wife Jessica, Justin Zirkle and his wife, Sheena; Shane Ridgeway; Donald McCloskey; and Cordell McCloskey; Three sisters Darla McElhaney and her husband Stanley of Conneaut Lake; Connie Hodge of Sharpsville, PA ; Linda Boyd-Splitstone and her husband Rick Splitstone Phoenix, AZ, and a half sister Rebecca Carr and her husband Edward of Meadville, PA. a brother Richard Hood of Greenville, PA five Great-grandchildren Zack Zirkle, Braxton Zirkle, Jesse Zirkle Jr., Jamie Zirkle, and Natalie Pointer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two nephews Mark Hood and Larry McElhaney. Calling hours will be Sunday March 24, 2013 from 6-9 pm at the Dickson Funeral Home 130 N Second Street, Conneaut Lake, PA. The funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in Jamestown, PA.
