James Paul Jones, 88, of the Fifth Ward, Meadville, passed away, Saturday, September 29, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his children. He was born June 4, 1930 in Meadville to Charles and Blanche (Lambert) Jones. He married Janet (J.J.) Dunton on May 31, 1952. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2007. James attended Meadville High school. He was a Gunner’s Mate Seaman in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He then went on to work at Advanced Cast until his retirement. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, he enjoyed nature and bird watching and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. James is survived by his three daughters, Brenda McEntire and her husband Tim of Conneaut Lake, Judy Jones and her husband Sam of Maryland, and Karen Jones and her fiancé Scott of Espyville, one son, James Jones and his wife Kathy of North Carolina, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Wiley, three brothers, Clarence Jones, Charles Jones, and John (Jack) Jones and his beloved dog Souky. There will be a private service for the family and a private burial will take place in Greendale Cemetery.
