James LaVerne LaBarr, age 66 of Meadville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 18, 1951 in McKean County the son of the late Nancy DePoncea LaBarr and Donald J. LaBarr. He was employed at Lord’s Corporation for six years, and had worked at various mechanical shops in the Meadville area. James was a generous, kind and loving man to his family, pets, friends and even people he just met. He enjoyed motorcycle riding with his wife and friends, and belonged to the motorcycle group, The Guardians. James was the Captain of Davis Hose Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God, serving in many ways as needed. James is survived by his wife of 22 years, Christine (Tina) LaBarr, Meadville, his children: Diane Link, James R. (Crickett) LaBarr, Michelle (Angel) Payne, Candida Burkhardt (Josh), Michael LaBarr (Nikki), Jason LaBarr (Katie), Bradley Kubecki, Heather Stearns (Joshua), Brittany Catalino (A.J.), Edwin Lewis II (Christy), Jessica Lewis, and Christopher Lewis, 37 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters: Brenda White (William), Susan Schultz (Orville), Joel R. LaBarr, Daniel LaBarr and John F. LaBarr. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two children, Brandy Marie LaBarr, June 5, 1985 and Brandon Michael LaBarr, March 12, 1987, a sister: Beth LaBarr Morse, and step-father: Charles Meals.
