Jim graduated from Cambridge Springs High School; and he was also a graduate of Alliance Technical Institute and attained his tool & die apprenticeship from Talon, Inc. He was in the US Army Reserves for 6 years. Jim had worked for Talon, Inc., for 29 years and Leech Industries for 16 years as a tool and die maker. He attended Saegertown United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, restoring antique tractors, playing 500, bee keeping, small engine repair and collectables. He volunteered at Meadville Medical Center and was a member of the French Creek Valley Antique Equipment Club.
