James Thomas Warren, age 93, of Conneaut Lake passed away on July 18, 2018 at Erie’s Hamot Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on December 4, 1924, the son of the late Bert and Agnes (Forsythe) Warren of Warrendale, Pa. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth (Monpere) Warren, a daughter Marilyn Stafford, and numerous siblings. Survivors include his second wife Lyneth (Nabua) Warren, a son James Warren Jr.(Heron), four daughters, Karen Steele, Nancy Beiter(Rusty), Shirley Simons(Mert) and Michelle Warren, ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. James was a U.S. army veteran of World War II, where as many young men of his day, he had his father sign off on his joining the military at the age of seventeen. He served in the 295th Engineers Combat Battalion, building bridges and roads for our troops throughout Europe following the D Day invasion. After his tour of duty, he worked construction in Pittsburgh, early on becoming a cement mason, and poured his last batch of concrete at the age of 87. His “hobby farm” once grew to 75 head of hereford cattle, and he put in his last crop of buckwheat at the age of 92. Over the course of his life, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, breeder of coon, fox and rabbit hounds, and an accomplished field biologist. Calling hours for James will be on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 4PM until 7PM at the Funeral Home. The Funeral will be at the funeral home on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11AM, followed by a comital service and full Military honors at Geneva Memorial Cemetery.
