James Lee Webster, 94, of Venango, PA passed away suddenly on March 17, 2019 of heart related issues. A longtime truck driver by trade, he semi-retired in the mid 1980s and drove school bus until he retired completely around 2002.
Jim was a World War II veteran, serving in the 34 th Infantry Division in Northern Africa and Italy. After his marriage in 1955 and the births of his three daughters, he was actively involved in three local clubs: The Springs Rod and Gun Club, the American Legion Post #381 in Cambridge Springs and the V.F.W. Post #169 in Venango. He was a charter member and a past commander of both of the latter, as well as a V.F.W. post commander on the County Council and District levels. He and his wife continued to be active in the V.F.W. for over twenty years.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Sokac) and his grandson, Michael Swift.
He is survived by three daughters; Robin Gallant of Edinboro, Sharon Swift of Saegertown, and Tracy Yoos of Cambridge Springs; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. He will be interred at Venango Cemetery following cremation.
