James "Harold" Young

James Harold Young, age 93, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on Friday May 12, 2023 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community. He was born on June 23, 1929 in Whitwell, TN to the late John and Mary (McNabb) Young.

Harold graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan Junior College, magna cum laude, Middle Tennessee University, magna cum laude and Emory University Atlanta, magna cum laude. He worked as a departmental manager at Avtex Fibers of Meadville, PA.

Harold played high school and college sports. He was an award winning quarterback for his high school in Whitwell, TN and he was a basketball all-star. In his later years, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his children, Sarah Baker and her husband, Steve of Conneaut Lake, PA and Colton Young and his wife, Susie of Wexford, PA; his beloved grandchildren, RJ Baker of Pittsburgh, PA, Cole Baker of Pittsburgh, PA, Shane Young of Sacramento, CA and Kyle Young of Philadelphia, PA and his brother, Johnny Young of Whitwell, TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbra (Davis) Young on April 2, 2013; his siblings, Clara, Opal, Odell, Joyce, Howard, Ray and an infant, Steven.
