Jane Bodak

January 31, 1943 — June 7, 2022

Jane L. (Cotton) Bodak, age 79, of Cambridge Springs, PA passed away at her home on Tuesday June 7, 2022 surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.  She was born on January 31, 1943 in Meadville, PA to the late Clare Lee and Mary Jane (Randolph) Cotton.  She married Frank Michael Bodak on December 22, 1962.  He preceded her in death in August 1986.

Jane attended Branchville one room schoolhouse in McKean and graduated from McKean High School in 1960.  She attended Edinboro University for two years.  She worked many jobs throughout the years including the Cambridge Springs Borough Tax Collector, crossing guard, the manager of Kwik Fill in Cambridge Springs, the manager of Dairy Mart in Meadville and a minority inspector for Cambridge Springs Borough polling station.

Jane was a very active member of the Cambridge Springs Presbyterian church acting as an Elder, a Deacon and Treasurer of the church.  She was a member of Rebekah’s of International Order of Odd Fellows for over 35 years and served as a lifetime board member of IOOF home of Meadville.  She was a Grange member, volunteered at the Cambridge Springs Food Pantry and she was a very active secretary of the Cotton Family Reunion.     She was an EMT for CAVAS, volunteered for Helping Hands organization of Cambridge Springs, was a Girl Scout Leader serving for 8 years and acted as the Service Unit Director and Cookie Captain.  She also loved birds, house plants and gardening.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Lea Ann Bodak of Cambridge Springs, PA and her son, F. Michael Bodak II and his wife, Ivanna of Cambridge Springs, PA; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Karen Alloway and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sara and Bob Wyant and Kathy and Ed Foulk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her sister, Olive Daughtery.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday June 10, 2022 at Cambridge Springs Presbyterian Church, 338 S. Main St., Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and Saturday June 11, 2022 from 10-11 am.  The service will take place at 11:00 am with Reverend Tommy O’Leary officiating.

Jane will be laid to rest next to her husband in Venango Cemetery.
