Janice Zuschlag

April 14, 1949 — August 23, 2024

Janice K. Zuschlag, age 75, of Meadville, PA passed away at Meadville Medical Center on Friday August 23, 2024 after an extended illness.  She was born on April 14, 1949 in Napa, CA to the late Alfred and Flora (Lampley) Sons.  She married Roland Zuschlag on December 5, 1998. He survives.

Janice earned her Bachelor’s degree in accounting at Colorado State University and then earned her Master’s at Regis University.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she helped with the bookkeeping and was the financial secretary. She was a member of DANK German Club of Erie, PA. She loved German dancing with her husband. Her favorite song to dance to was Edelweiss.  She enjoyed playing board games, especially cribbage and she loved watching all sports. She was also an avid reader of Mystery novels.

In addition to her loving husband of 25 years, she is survived by her son, Jason Battin and his wife, Esti of FL; her daughter, Christine Battin and her significant other, Will of IL; her step daughters, Christina, Erica and Susan; her granddaughters, Emily and Isabelle and her sister, Phyllis Smith of CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Stan.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 649 Park Ave., Meadville with Pastor Benjamin Travis officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
