Jerry Whitmore

Jerry Thomas Whitmore, 69, most recently of Linesville, PA, passed away at home on December 4, 2023. He was born on August 1, 1954 in Sharon, PA to Frank (“Bud”) H. Whitmore and Nancy C. (Kear) Whitmore.

Jerry graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School, class of 1972. He worked with his father at both the SanRay Corporation and building custom kitchens and cabinetry as Whitmore & Son. He spent time as a chef, a salesman and a highly overqualified handyman.  He was also a Presbyterian minister.

Jerry was an avid golfer and was on many different leagues over the years. He enjoyed the theatre and was involved in productions with Meadville Community Theater and The Academy Theater. He will be best remembered for his big smile, infectious laugh, witty sense of humor, always being early and knowing more people than he cared to count.

He is survived by his daughter, Sadie Whitmore and her husband, Michael Sallay of Meadville, PA; his son, Eli Whitmore of Franklin, PA; a sister, Janet Petts and her husband, Louis of Cochranton, PA; two grandchildren, Clayton and Cerese and the children and grandchildren who he always loved, no matter who was married to whom.

A memorial service will be held at a future time and details will be provided when they are finalized.
