Jimmy D. Miller, age 60, of Meadville passed away July 20, 2019, at the Marquette Hospice House. Jimmy passed away, listening to Eric Clapton, as he did every night.
He was born October 1, 1958, in Marion, Ohio, the son of Harry Miller and Shirley (Crabtree) Miller.
Jimmy and Cathy Hodson were married on December 31, 1998; Cathy survives. Jimmy attended school in Marion, Ohio. He was a mechanic and “pushed wrenches” his entire life.
He was a Civil War reenactor, and played fife and drum with his partners John Aaron and Sue Lener.
Jimmy battled cancer for 5 years. Cathy would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Barco Cancer Institute, especially Jim’s nurse “Part-timer”.
In addition to his wife Cathy, Jimmy is survived by a stepdaughter: Amy Dart and partner Jeff Mervine of Meadville; 2 sons Matthew and his husband Anthony of Ohio; and a stepson Jay Elliott (Heidi) of North Carolina. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Taylor Dart, Megan and Elizabeth Dart, and Emerson and Esther Elliot; a sister Cheryl Casperson of Meadville and Tom Bortsheller of Marion, Ohio; and uncle David Miller of Marion, Ohio; 4 furry children: Whitey, Duke, Dutchess, and Pedro.
Additionally, many nieces and nephews survive Jimmy.
Preceded him in death were his parents, a brother Randy Miller, a sister-in-law Sharon Bortsheller and a brother –in-law James Hodson.
No services are scheduled at this time.
