John Bolding Jr.

October 13, 1941 — May 23, 2021

John Maxwell “Max” Bolding, Jr., age 79, of Guys Mills, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday,  May 23, 2021.  He was born on October 13, 1941 in Gainesville, GA to the late John M. Bolding and Mary Lancaster Stephens.  He married Kathleen “Kitty” Tyler on September 18, 1965.  She survives.

Max was employed at Carpenter’s Packing Plant of Townville, PA then he was an electrician/maintenance supervisor for J&J Food Service for 20 years.  He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1960-1969.

He was a member of West Mead 2 social club and the American Legion.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golfing and hunting.  He loved Bluegrass music and spending time with his friends and family.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, Kitty, he is survived by his five children, Stephanie Roberts and her husband, Ross of Titusville, PA, Frances Ridle and her husband, Mark of Meadville, PA, Stanley Bolding and his wife, Debbie of Guys Mills, PA, Mary Bolding of Guys Mills, PA and Howard Bolding and his wife, Stephanie of Guys Mills, PA; grandchildren, Jarrod Roberts, Jade Roberts, Monica Krince and her husband, Timmy, Rowan Woods, Rylee Bolding, Melissa Stussi, Madeline Stussi, Mike Stussi, Johnathan Bolding and Nick Byerley; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Susan Baron of Jupiter, FL and brother, Stephen Bolding and his wife, Sherri of Marietta, GA.

Max was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Phoebe Griffin; his brother-in-law, Paul Baron and grandson, John Ridle.

There will be a private family service and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  Max will be buried at Union Cemetery Guys Mills, PA.
