John C. Borkovec

John C. Borkovec age 69 of Meadville, passed away due to a fire on Friday, February 22 ^nd , 2019.  He was born on October 4, 1949 to the late Harry Borkovec and Louise (Choffel) Borkovec.

John graduated from Meadville High School in 1968.  He then served in the Air Force until 1972.  He earned an Associates degree in Specialized Business and worked at Active Aging and Walmart.   John was a past member of the Eagles Club and the ICC.  He was a current member of VFW Post #2006.  He enjoyed walking the city streets of Meadville, no matter what the weather was.  He also enjoyed metal detecting, meeting with his friends over coffee and listening to sports on the radio.

John is survived by his two sisters, Christine Pelc of Meadville and Karen Boor and her husband, Gary of Meadville and his nieces and nephews; Carlos Jimenez of Los Angeles, CA, Elisa Beuchat and her husband, Ed of Meadville, Elena Taylor of North Carolina, Paul Pelc Jr. and his wife, Rachel of Meadville, Andy Boor of Meadville, Jason Boor and his wife, Elizabeth of Sellersville, PA, Joshua Boor and his wife, Micheal of San Antonio, TX, and Matthew Boor and his wife, Jessica of Dallas, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Paul Pelc, Sr.

Military Honors, presented by VFW Post #2006 are scheduled for Saturday, March 2 ^nd at 1PM.  The location will be at the scene of the fire, located at 697 Terrace St. Meadville, PA 16335.  The family suggests that donations be made to the Active Aging Foundation, 1034 Park Ave. Meadville, PA 16335. Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon immediately following the military service at Perkin’s banquet facility 18276 Conneaut Lake Rd., Meadville, PA.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St. Meadville, PA 16335.
