John Chuey

John E. Chuey, age 93, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at St. Paul’s Greenville.  He was born July 15, 1929 in Struthers, OH to the late Michael and Helen (Turchin) Chuey.  He married Patricia Erwin on January 23, 1954.  She preceded him in death on May 29, 2000.

John was a US Army Korean War Veteran.  He worked for Clemente Construction of Youngstown, OH for 15 years, then worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 7 years, then Republic Steel for 5 years and then had his own construction company for 10 years, Chuey-Fabis Construction.  He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Catholic Church.

John is survived by his sons, John Chuey and his wife, Tracy of Conneaut Lake, PA, Jim Chuey and his wife, Lynn of Conneaut Lake, PA, Tom Chuey and his wife Donna of Masury, OH, his grandchildren, Sarah Davis and her husband Bill, Matthew Chuey and his wife Makayla, and three great grandchildren, Lillian, Olivia and Jettson.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Ann Chuey; his sisters, Helen Zap and Mary VanJura and his brothers, Michael, Steve and Joseph Chuey.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, Good Samaritan Fund, 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, PA  16125.

John will be laid to rest at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, OH.
