John R. Hoover

John (Jack) Richardson Hoover, a dearly loved husband, father and grandfather passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at UPMC Hamot. He was a Conneaut Lake resident for 65 years. Born In Pittsburgh, PA on February 21, 1926 to Howard Hoover and Blanch (Schmidt) Hoover. John married Willa Mae Jestead, who later passed away on May 16, 1994. He Then married Diana Catherine Campbell on June 6, 1998. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for 61 years. He worked at George Culligan, then John Harrison Co. for 38 years, then worked at McKemish Sheet Metal Co. until retirement. John was a member of Local Union #12, a WWII US ARMY veteran, serving in the European Theatre, a paratrooper within the 13th Airborne Division 1944-1945. He was a member of VFW Post 1810 of Brentwood. John Faithfully attended Living Waters Worship Center. Survivors include his wife Diana Hoover of Conneaut Lake, 2 son's William and his wife Karen of Pittsburgh, PA and Richard and his wife Kathy of Fresno, California. His present wife's children who thought of him as a wonderful second father and grandfather, Ms. Sherry Parker of Meadville, PA, Brian Parker of Meadville, PA, Sue and her husband Richard Sheets of Meadville, PA, Ms. Michelle Moore of Waco Texas, Renee and husband Joseph Cranmer of Franklin, PA. A sister Lois McDonald of Pittsburgh, PA. 2 Grandchildren, Heidi and her husband Bryan Calhoun and Eric and his wife Vanessa Hoover and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Willa Mae, 2 sisters Blanche Lessa, and Alice Kaylor and 2 brothers Howard Hoover and Fred Hoover. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Dickson Funeral Home. The Funeral Will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11AM at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory Conneaut Lake with Pastor Ray Martinez of Living Waters Worship Center. The Committal service will be on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 1 PM at Jefferson Memorial Park with Reverend Jude Urso.
