John Murphy

John Murphy, age 80, of Meadville, PA passed away on Sunday October 4, 2020 at his residence after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  He was born on October 31, 1939 in Coraopolis, PA to the late William and Margaret (Mixter) Murphy.

John was a “jack of all trades.” He especially liked to work on and fix lawn mowers and was known around town as the “lawn mower man.”

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Gustie Bump Murphy; five children, Dana Murphy and his wife, Beverly of TN, Samantha Sampson and her husband, Roger of MT, Christina Murphy of Meadville, PA, Daniel Murphy and his wife, Sam of Meadville, PA and Scott Murphy of Ridgeway, PA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and two sisters, Juanita Gates of OH and Lulabelle Brown of OH.

John was preceded in death by two grandsons, Devin Murphy-Mandaville and O’Ryan Murphy.

As per his request, there will be no services.  A memorial service will be held on October 31, 2020.  For details, please contact the family.
