John F. Schneider

John F. Schneider, age 74, passed away peacefully at Crawford County Care Center on July 16, 2022.  He was born on April 29, 1948 to the late Carl G. Schneider and late Wilma (Smarda) Schneider.   He was a 1966 graduate of Meadville Area High School and thereafter voluntarily and honorably served in the US Army between 1966 and 1969, touring in Vietnam two times.

He was an inspector at Talon zipper company. He loved the Steelers and was an avid outdoorsman.  His passion was fishing on Pymatuning Lake and French Creek, hunting for white-tailed deer and arrowhead hunting.

He is survived by his two children, daughter Trisha Gill and her husband, Gregory of Pittsburgh, PA, and  son, Joseph Ryan Schneider of New Bern, NC and his wife Ashley, seven grandchildren(Jack Zaken, Nicolette Gill, Madison Schneider, McKenzie Schneider, Milena Gill, Matthew Schneider and Joshua Schneider) and sister, Kathleen Wills, nieces Amy (Wills) McMahon and Stephanie Wills and a nephew, Leslie Wills.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his twin infant sons, Joseph Carl and Matthew Ronald.

A burial service will be held on Friday August 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at Dicksonburg Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post #2006.
