Jon "Steve" Procner

Jon (Steve) Procner, age 80, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday February 8, 2024 at Erie Veterans Medical Center with family by his side.   He was born on September 18, 1943 in Mercer, PA to the late Adolph and Elizabeth (DeWalt) Procner.

Steve was a Lakeview High School graduate.  He served in the United States Navy when he was 18 years old completing his duty as Corpsman at the US Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD.  Prior to retiring back to Pennsylvania, he lived and worked for 25 years in San Diego, CA.

Steve was a social member of Vernon Central Fire Hall.  He loved fishing and golfing.

He is survived by his sisters, Cynthia (Keith) Frye of Meadville, PA and Nancy (Michael) Setta of Meadville, PA and his nieces and nephews, Amy (Leo) DeLeon, Jonathan (Erin O’Day) Frye, Brian (Jessica) Setta, Lynn (Joseph) Zuccaro, Scott (fiancé Kristen) Stephens, Laurel Yeager and Cole (Meagan) Perrine and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel A. Procner.

As per his wishes, there will be no services.  He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Sandy Lake, PA.
