Josefa Pence

Josefa M. Pence, age 88, of Meadville, PA passed away on Friday August 21, 2026 at Marquette Hospice House. She was born on February 6, 1938 in Germany to the late Heinrich and Katharina (Nix) Wolf. She married Larry Pence on September 6, 1970. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2014.

Over the years she worked as a caregiver, a cook, a butcher and a security officer.

Josie travelled to and from Germany and vacationed with her sisters in Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona and Arkansas. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework. She also enjoyed playing Pokeno and Bingo, gambling, jewelry and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Gabi (Wolf) Pafla and her spouse, Jochen Zingel of Germany and Arthur Wolf and his wife, Tricia of Meadville, PA; grandchildren, Nicole Pafla Hermann(Markus Konig), Deiken Wolf (Ivy) and Michael Pafla (Maika);great grandchildren, Sahra, Kevin and Leoni Hermann, Raphael and Noel Pafla and soon-to-be, Waylon and Barrett Wolf and her sisters, Elizabeth Sharp of AZ, Elvira “Vera” Shelley of AK and Helga Bayerl of Germany.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Larry, she was preceded in death by her sister, Maria Sullivan and her brother, Karl Heinz Wolf and her beloved dog, Susie.
