On Monday, August 24, 2020, Joe left his earthly home to live forever in his Heavenly home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is now reunited with his wife, Audrey who went before him. Even though we will miss him very much we would not wish him back when we know from God’s Word that he is no longer struggling in his physical body. He would want us to let you know that this eternal life can be yours, too by trusting in his Lord and asking forgiveness for your sin.
Joe was born March 7, 1931 near Little Corners, the son of Frank and Birdena Dillinger. He was raised on the farm and at an early age became interested in auto mechanics. He enlisted in the Army in 1951 and served as a chaplain’s assistant. He worked at several garages in Meadville before opening Dillinger’s Pennzoil in Conneaut Lake with his brother, Cliff in 1969. A man of deep faith and convictions, he served as a deacon for 60 years as well as teaching Sunday School. He was a member of Carmel Baptist Church in Mosiertown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Pauline (Joe) Mohra, Sarah (Jim) Monnin, brother Clifford (Bonnie), and his grandson Jared Dillinger.
He is survived by six daughters, Paula Dillinger, Donna Dillinger, Patricia (Dave) White, Brenda (Jeff) Eells, Doris (Rick) Copeland, Beth (Jerry) White, and one son, Daniel Dillinger; grandchildren: Erin (Eells) Depew, Jordan Eells, Adam and Amanda White, Cassidy, Carleigh, Dylan, Josh Copeland, Ashley and Sam White, and Josh Lynn; great-grandchildren: Xavier, Gavin, and Elora Dillinger, Patrick McDowell, Aubrey and Kinsley Copeland, and Brooklynn Depew.
He loved his family very much and was a great source of wisdom and sound advice for us all. It is with great respect, love and devotion that we say “Farewell, for now- ‘til we meet again”. “Only one life, will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.” His favorite Bible verse was Galatians 2:20.
