Joseph A. Gandziarski, age 93, of Cochranton formerly of Tarentum, PA passed away at home on Thursday June 27, 2024, which would have been he and his wife’s 71st wedding anniversary. He was born on July 17, 1930 to the late Joseph and Martha (Smith) Gandziarski. He married Margaret Albaugh on June 27, 1953. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2018.
Joe worked as a glass inspector at PPG until his retirement. He was of Protestant faith. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, supporting the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. He attended training camp for the Philadelphia Phillies as a pitcher in his younger years.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean Steiger of Cochranton, PA; his son, Charles Gandziarski of Cochranton, PA; 2 grandchildren, Tanya Boyd of Cochranton, PA and Robbie Mumford and his wife, Nicole of Greenville, PA; 3 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; his sister, Verley Baker of Cheswick, PA and his brothers, Thomas Gandziarski and his wife, Ann of Creighton, PA and Gerald Gandziarski of Grovetown, GA.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Gandziarski; his son-in-law, Max Steiger; his grandchildren, Stacey Mumford and Leland Gandziarski; his brother-in-law, Norman Baker and his sister-in-law, Monika Gandziarski.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of his granddaughter Stacey to his grandson Robbie Mumford at 95 Williamson Rd., Greenville, PA 16125 to be used for school supplies for kindergarteners at Greenville Schools.
