Joyce Moffit

Joyce Ann (Damico) Moffit, age 76, of Meadville, PA passed away on Monday September 13, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center.  She was born on November 12, 1944 in Meadville, PA to the late Joseph P. and Margaret Bernice (Kinney) Damico.  She married Patrick T. Moffit on April 24, 1965 at St. Brigid’s Church.  He survives.

Joyce was an active member of St. Brigid’s Church where she was proud to have started the Lenten Fish Dinners.  She was the former co-owner of “Italian Cousins Pizza Shop” on North Street in Meadville.  She was also the cook for St. Brigid’s Church, which started her 18 year catering career.  But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 56 years, Patrick; her daughters, Tracy Steck and Marcy (Shawn) Monnie ; 5 grandkids, Zackery Steck, Samantha (Dan) Sochor , Megan Steck, Bennet Monnie and Alec Monnie; 6 great grandkids, Hallie and Coltin Steck, Adilynn Chernicky, Jack Wisinski and Keira and Skylar Sochor; two sisters, Rose (Jim) Burchard, and Margaret Jindra and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Donna Hyde, Delores Aubel, Dorothy Mauk, Josephine Karas, Madeline Gisewhite and Mary Grace Hulbert and her brother, Edgar Damico and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday September 17, 2021 from 3-7 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday September 18, 2021 at 11:00 am St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, PA 16335 with Father Thomas Brown officiating.  She will be laid to rest at St. Brigid Cemetery.
